1996-97 Girls Basketball Team
The 1996-97 Wakefield High
School Girl’s Basketball Team, coached by Karen Grutchfield
assisted by Pete Grutchfield, Michael Sheeran, and Meg McKenna was one of the best teams ever
assembled on the court at the Charbonneau Field House. The Warriors posted a 25-1 record and captured
the Division II State Championsip. The team was lead by Angela Botticelli, Andrea Encarnarcao,
Jenna McNeil, Kerry Sullivan, Katelyn Campbell, Jen
Lockhart, Julie Higgins, Katelyn Dwyer, Carrie Price,
Melissa Edwards and Erica Dusenberry. The team finished 18-0 in the Middlesex
League and had their only loss in the annual Christmas Tournament.
