Wakefield Hall of Fame

 

William F. Norton

 

     In each of his three years (1965, ’66 and ’67) that first baseman Bill Norton played varsity baseball for Wakefield High School, his batting average was over .400.  He was an All Star his junior and senior year and named a Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic.  In 1969 Bill was the number one draft pick of the Boston Red Sox and the only Massachusetts player drafted that year.
