Wakefield High Football 1991

 

     The first game of the year was a 35-15 blowout against Revere but Wakefield, within a week forfeited the game which made this team 6-4 instead of 7-3.  

 

Jose Raymond led the league in scoring that year with 99 points winning the title on Thanksgiving against Melrose with the game winning conversion.   He had 12 touchdowns, 23 PAT kicks and 2 PAT conversions.  Those 99 points in 1991 added to his total of 173 career points for another couple spots in the book.  On three separate occasions, Jose kicked 5 PATs in a game (Revere, Stoneham, Belmont) to enter the record book..  Jose scored 4 touchdowns against Revere and also entered the record book by rushing for 922 yards on 137 carries.

 

Mike Leone scored 74 points in 1991 for a place in the record book.

 

Keith Francis threw a 73 yard pass to Mike Leone against Melrose to make the Wakefield record book.
